Featuring Sanctus Real, The Afters and Introducing Lindsay McCaul

GRAMMY®, AMA and 2010 Dove Award-winning Artist of the YearCasting Crowns is announcing plans for a massive 40-city fall concert tour, titled the “Come To The Well” Tour, taking its name from the bands highly-anticipated new studio project, Come To The Well, releasing Oct. 18. The tour kicks off Sept. 22, in El Paso, Texas, featuring premier modern rock bands Sanctus Realand The Afters, and introducing Christian music newcomer Lindsay McCaul.

The tour will coincide with the release of Come To The Well (the band’s first new studio album in two years), featuring the hit single “Courageous,” which will also be showcased in the upcoming Sherwood Pictures film by the same title, in theaters on Sept. 30. The “Come To The Well” Tour also follows the band’s recent Dove Award win in the Long Form Music Video category for the hugely successful Until The Whole World Hears Live DVD/CD release, which captured the unforgettable 2009/2010 “Until The Whole World Hears” national concert tour, which saw more than 350,000 fans in 82 cities.

The “Come To The Well” Tour is partnering with Christian humanitarian organization World Vision (www.worldvision.org). World Vision provides assistance to approximately 100 million people in nearly 100 countries by tackling the causes of poverty and injustice. Casting Crowns has helped to generate a total of 52,000 child sponsorships for World Vision to date.

About Casting Crowns

All of Atlanta-based Casting Crowns’ projects are RIAA certified, with a tally of three RIAA Platinum Albums, two RIAA Platinum DVDs, two RIAA Gold Albums and a Gold DVD, holding position as Billboard’s top-selling act in Christian music since 2007. Despite an unprecedented six-year career with Casting Crowns, the seven band members remain active in student ministry in the Atlanta area and tour part-time around their local church duties. Serving his 18th year in youth ministry, lead singer/songwriter Mark Hall is the student pastor at Eagle’s Landing First Baptist Church in Atlanta. As a testament to the band’s impact,Casting Crowns performed for a second time in North Korea in April 2009, in partnership with Global Resource Services, as the band continues to forge invaluable relationships with the people in the D.P.R.K.

About Sanctus Real

Sanctus Real’s fastest-selling GRAMMY and Dove-nominated, fifth studio album Pieces Of A Real Heartcontinues to sell over 130% ahead of the band’s last GRAMMY-nominated album. The album has also sparked two No. 1 songs, “Forgiven” and “Lead Me,” the latter having been heard by well over 100,000,000 people at radio and receiving the first-ever song endorsements from Focus on the Family and FamilyLife, as well as gathering two “Song of the Year” Dove nominations. The success of the singles helped pave the way for the band to become Billboard’s No. 4 most played Christian band of 2010 at radio. In all, Sanctus Real has gathered 14 No. 1 and Top 5 radio hits so far.

About The Afters

Texas-based band The Afters were propelled into the national spotlight with their INO/Sony Music Label Group debut I Wish We All Could Win. The project spawned the swirling, melodic hit “Beautiful Love,” earning the band an enthusiastic following when the song was selected as the theme track for MTV’s “8th and Ocean.” “Beautiful Love” was also the most downloaded track of 2006 on the iTunes® Inspirational charts and garnered the band an mtvU award as well. The Afters’ sophomore release Never Going Back To OK (INO/Columbia Records) debuted in the Top 50 on the Billboard Top 200, and proved to be sensation on the silver screen with “Grey’s Anatomy” (ABC), “Dr. Phil,” “Army Wives” (Lifetime) and “Rachael Ray.” The band’s third record Light Up the Sky bolstered the No. 1 hit “Light Up the Sky.” A slew of media includingRolling Stone, Seventeen.com, E! News Live, TV Guide, Premiere Radio and more also picked up on covering The Afters.

About Lindsay McCaul

There’s a phrase often heard in music industry circles: “It all begins with a song.” That motto carries extra weight in Christian music where a great lyric transcends entertainment and becomes a vehicle to share the gospel. Lindsay McCaul is an artist keenly aware of words and their value. From her teen years pouring over the lyrics of her favorite music to her college days majoring in linguistics at Moody Bible Institute, McCaul’s gifts manifest themselves in vibrant, insightful songs crafted with thoughtful precision reflecting a compassionate heart and deep intellect. McCaul’s 11-track debut If It Leads Me Back (Aug. 23), produced by Jason Ingram (Tenth Avenue North, Meredith Andrews), reveals considerable depth and pathos; keen songwriting paired with her shimmering voice only compels the listener deeper into the album’s overall experience. If It Leads Me Back is an auspicious beginning from a talented newcomer whose music will leave a lasting impression. Audiences nationwide will get to experience Lindsay at radio this summer, and live on the fall leg of the Casting Crowns tour.
Skillet’s latest, Awake (Atlantic/Ardent/INO), continues to propel the incredible momentum the rock outfit has going for them, receiving RIAA Gold certification in just 10 months (half the time of the gold selling Comatose), along with their hit Active Rock and Christian Rock Single, “Monster” also receiving the same honor. Awake hit the ground running with a blockbuster debut at No. 2 on Billboard’s “Top 200,” selling over 67,000 units and peaking at No. 1 on iTunes ® “Top Albums” chart and “Top Rock” chart. The project has not slowed down in nearly two years, being named Billboard’s No. 2 “Top Christian Album” and No. 9 “Top Alternative Album” of 2010. Awake boasts three Active Rock hits “Monster,” which was also AOL Music’s No. 4 “Mainstream Rock Song of 2009,” the No. 1 Christian CHR & Rock single, “Hero,” which has been used by the NFL in their Sunday Night Football and NFL Weekend Kickoff promos, and their latest No. 1 hit and crowd favorite “Awake & Alive.”

Skillet’s live show has brought down the house with their powerful and intense performance from coast to coast, consistently ranking within Pollstar’s Concert Pulse “Top 50 Tours.” Having toured with the likes of mainstream megastars Breaking Benjamin, Three Days Grace, Shinedown and more, Skillet has also co-headlined with Papa Roach, and headlined a slew of major Christian festivals – always leaving their fans wanting more. With cumulative sales approaching 2 million, the two-time Grammy® nominated alternative rockers have also scored seven consecutive number one Christian radio singles, a 2008 GMA Dove Award for “Rock Song of the Year,” a 2009 nomination for Artist of the Year, a trio of singles on Billboard’s Mainstream Rock charts and a pair of BMI Songwriting awards.

Band’s Fastest Selling Album Ever, AFTERMATH

Modern worship band Hillsong UNITED is featured as the current “Hotstar” cover feature of touring industry trade magazine Pollstar. Of the more than 11,000 artists on Pollstar’s radar, the publication chose UNITED to be the cover of its April 11 issue following the success of the band’s North American “Aftermath” tour. Logging 10 sold out events at major venues coast-to-coast and becoming the first Christian artist to ever sell out Los Angeles’s Staples Center, Hillsong UNITED’s tour launched following the release of its 11th full-length album and second ever studio recording, AFTERMATH, which topped retail sales charts internationally and remains the band’s fastest selling album ever.

In addition to the Staples Center, major market venues that sold out along the tour include Seattle’s ShoWare Center, San Francisco’s Warfied Theatre, Sacramento’s Memorial Auditorium, Dallas’s Music Hall, Houston’s Berry Center, Atlanta’s Gwinnett Center, New York City’s Hammerstein Ballroom and two back-to-back sold out events the same night at Boston’s Orpheum Theatre. Partially driving the success in each market were Hillsong UNITED’s more than 1.75 million friends at www.facebook.com/hillsongunited. Plans for a significant summer/fall 2011 North American tour to begin in August will be announced soon.

“Christian music collective Hillsong UNITED from Sydney, Australia, has visited the U.S. several times over the past three years, drawing crowds from 3,000 to 6,000 wherever they went. But it wasn’t until they became the first Christian artist to sell out the Staples Center that the band caught some people’s attention,” notes Pollstar.

For the full Pollstar feature, click this link: http://www.pollstar.com/blogs/hotstar/archive_/2011/04/01/hotstar199084.aspx.

Hillsong UNITED claimed it’s highest sales charting success to date with AFTERMATH. Landing at No. 17 on the Billboard Top 200, becoming Hillsong Music’s 10th Top 10 album in Australia and hitting the top 10 on iTunes in numerous countries around the world, Hillsong UNITED’s AFTERMATH debut sales were 55% ahead of its last, critically acclaimed album, A Cross the Earth: Tear Down The Walls. Seven weeks later, AFTERMATH remains the band’s fastest selling album ever as its first single from AFTERMATH, “Search My Heart,” a pulsing, urgent cry to be used by God for His – not simply our own – purposes, has become the band’s most successful radio single ever. Hitting the Top 20 on Billboard’s national Christian radio audience chart, the single continues to gather radio adds and has been heard by millions of people nationwide.

AFTERMATH is also the first new album from Hillsong UNITED in over two years, and offers an unabashedly creative collection of new songs that celebrates the One who saves, redeems and is the true representation of Hope in a world where hopelessness abounds.

The eagerly-awaited new album from singer/songwriter Andrew Peterson, Counting Stars, will release July 27, 2010. The CD, produced by the artist’s long-time collaborators, Ben Shive and Andy Gullahorn, is the second project from Peterson to be released by Centricity Music.

“We at Centricity Music feel like it is such a privilege to partner with Andrew Peterson,” says Steve Ford, Vice President of Sales/Marketing, Centricity Music. “When he delivered ‘Counting Stars,’ it reminded the entire staff of why we love Andrew. The twelve finely crafted songs are produced in a way that draws the listener into a place of revelation, a place where you see your life through Andrew’s eyes. This is a gift few songwriters have and that’s why we are excited about ‘Counting Stars.’”

The bulk of material for Counting Stars was recorded within eight days in Washington State during January 2010, as Peterson camped in a recording studio with Shive, Gullahorn, Gabe Scott and engineer, Todd Robbins. They loaded up their guitars, hammered dulcimer, accordion, dobro and banjo, flew from Nashville to the Northwest and started collaborating. The twelve new songs were written over a two-year period by Peterson, who is one of the most respected songwriters in several genres of music. Counting Stars gives intimate glimpses of everyday life that is so important to everyone’s heart….family, friendship, community and home.

The first single from the new album is “The Reckoning,” which has just gone for radio adds and is already receiving airplay from such stations as, KCRN/San Angelo, TX and KNLB / Phoenix, AZ. Peterson wrote the song while sitting on the porch of his home outside of Nashville when a severe thunderstorm was rolling into the area.

“I love the humility that a big, dangerous storm system gives us,” Peterson explains. “Everyone remembers they’re quite small and powerless in the scheme of things. In the twenty-first century, with jumbo jets and air conditioning and high-speed internet, we still sometimes have to run for our lives and hide in the closet under a blanket.”

“Dancing In The Minefields” is already becoming a favorite tune from the CD, as it is a thought provoking song that despite the title is a positive love song. And we’re dancing in the minefields/We’re sailing in the storms/This is harder than we dreamed/But I believe that’s what the promise is for. “World Traveler” addresses the wander-lust that lives in all of us and lets us know that the grand adventure can be in our own backyard. “In The Night” celebrates how hope lives on even through our daily pain and struggles, while “Fool With A Fancy Guitar,” reminds us that we are all priests who live in the Kingdom of God.

“The title Counting Stars ties the themes of relationship and hope together in the hope of God’s promise to Abraham,” says Peterson. “We’re a part of the cloud of witnesses, passing the promises of God to our children and their children, building this Kingdom that has no end.”

About Andrew Peterson

Peterson began his career in 1996 and signed with his first label, Watershed/Essential records in 1999. His first CD, Carried Along made CCM magazine’s list of Top Ten albums of 2000. In 2004, Peterson received his first Dove nomination for “Family Man” for Country Recorded Song of the Year. Peterson’s first project for Centricity Music in 2008, Resurrection Letters, Volume II, became the highest Billboard charting album of his career. Since 2004, Peterson has toured with several Nashville musicians and artists on his annual Christmas tour, Behold the Lamb of God: The True Tall Tale of the Coming of Christ. Peterson has also authored three children’s books, The Ballad of Matthew’s Begats, On the Edge of the Sea of Darkness and North! Or Be Eaten. For updates about Andrew Peterson please visit www.andrew-peterson.com or www.rabbitroom.com.

“We put this song on the record as a tribute to 70’s rock and roll. The lyrics are spiritual in nature, but it was not necessarily written to be a religious song. We really enjoy putting our spin on classic songs, but would never attempt to compete with the original tracks. I feel as though the vibe of this song fits what we were trying to accomplish with the record and gives it a bit more depth.” –Adam Agee

Tim Mahoney has been a fixture on the Twin Cities live music scene (as well as in most of Minnesota and surrounding states) for 15 years now, and most fans and followers have confirmed and asserted that Mahoney is at his best performing live. That’s why Mahoney is doing something slightly unconventional for his next album release. On Thursday, May 27, Mahoney and his band will perform at Sound Gallery Studios in downtown Minneapolis. Skyy Vodka will sponsor the show and it will be recorded for a live album release, tentatively set for September. Mahoney is giving away a signed guitar and Metro Magazine is doing a photo spread of the event.
“Tim Mahoney has the unique songwriting ability to take every day life, interpret it, and create magic,” says fan Patrick Moes. “I’ve seen his shows where there were less than 200 people and others that had 2,000. Nonetheless, Tim always offered his best and his magic inspired greatness.”

But his music also offers a timeless quality, as evidenced by this fan, Dena Pasicznyk Rasmussen: “Tim’s music was the soundtrack to my youth, and continues to be played in my home 20 years later, making it the soundtrack to my childrens’ youth as well.”

Further evidence of Mahoney’s magic as a live performer, local station Cities 97 has had his song, “Talk To Me,” in rotation for a few years, and it’s a live version of the song that they’ve been spinning. Mahoney will be in studio that week for an interview and to promote the show with some ticket giveaways. This is on the heels of another songwriting honor, literally. It was announced late last month that Mahoney earned an Honorable Mention for the 2009 International Songwriting Competition (ISC) for his song, “What are We Waiting For.” Last year, Mahoney finished third in the Top 40 category of the ISC for “Theme Song,” which he co-wrote with Kevin Kadish.

Tim Mahoney is living proof that great music always speaks volumes, ultimately determining what the listening public wants to hear. 65,000 of those listeners heard Mahoney sing the National Anthem at the Metrodome more than once, but for an artist having this much success without the support of a label, Tim Mahoney’s career is still just getting started. Mahoney, who wins songwriting competitions regularly, won the grand prize in the Great American Song Contest in 2008, and he was also selected in 2008 as one of the Twin Cities’ 40 Under 40 by The Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal. Mahoney has had songs from hisStay/Leave album licensed for eight TV shows last fall including MTV”s “The Hills” and “Life of Ryan,” and E!’s“Keeping Up with the Kardashians” and “Living Lohan.” In 2007, Mahoney won the Ray-Ban Never Hide Music Contest, which landed him in a two-page spread in Rolling StoneMagazine’s 40th Anniversary issue. Mahoney has sold over 125,000 units as an independent artist and continues to tour both with his band and as a solo performer. Stay/Leave was also selected by Target as part of its Emerging Artists Program, landing it on the end caps in music sections of 500 Target stores in the Midwest.
